A 9-Week Creative Writing Programme

Ages 7–11 | Small Groups | Live Online

Imagine it. Write it. Bring it to life.

Every great story starts with an idea.

Storytellers Club is a fun, interactive 9-week creative writing programme designed to help young writers turn their imagination into engaging, well-crafted stories.

Through creative challenges, storytelling games, inspiring prompts and guided writing activities, children will discover how authors create memorable characters, exciting plots and vivid worlds — while developing the vocabulary and writing techniques they need to bring their own ideas to life.

There’s no “I don’t know what to write.” We help children find their ideas, develop them and discover their own voice as writers.

What will your child learn?

Throughout the programme, children will develop:

  • Ideas & imagination – generating original ideas and developing them into stories

  • Character creation – creating believable, memorable characters with personality

  • Setting & description – using sensory details and ambitious vocabulary to create vivid settings

  • Plot & structure – building stories with engaging openings, developed events and satisfying endings

  • Powerful vocabulary – choosing precise, interesting words that make writing more effective

  • Show, don’t tell – using actions, thoughts and description to bring scenes to life

  • Dialogue – writing natural conversations and using speech effectively

  • Figurative language – experimenting with similes, metaphors and personification

  • Sentence craft – varying sentence structures for pace, impact and interest

  • Editing & improving – learning to reread, refine and strengthen their own writing

The 9-Week Journey

Weeks 1–3 — Imagine
Generate ideas, create characters, explore settings and discover the ingredients of a brilliant story.

Weeks 4–6 — Create
Develop plots, experiment with description and dialogue, expand vocabulary and learn powerful writing techniques.

Weeks 7–9 — Write & Bring It to Life
Plan, draft, edit and polish an original story, bringing together everything learned throughout the programme.

More than creative writing

Storytelling helps children develop much more than their writing skills.

It encourages them to think creatively, organise their ideas, experiment with language, communicate effectively and become more confident expressing themselves.

With small groups and personalised guidance, children have the freedom to experiment, make mistakes and discover what makes their writing uniquely theirs.

By the end of the programme…

Your child will have a stronger understanding of how effective stories are created, a richer vocabulary, a wider range of creative writing techniques and greater confidence in developing their own ideas.

And most importantly, they’ll have created a story they can genuinely be proud of.
